Review & Description

"It is the sign that represents the clan of the witches and it is not well known outside of their society." Yuron slipped a piece of parchment off a nearby table, along with a quill and a small inkwell. He drew with smooth strokes first, a large half circle, and last, a long sword piercing through the heart of it. It was an image of the rising sun.
"Why the sword?" Ahllay asked quietly, grasping the hilt of her own sword.
"The symbol was changed, the sword replacing the budding tree when the peace of our world was disturbed by the Shadows long ago. They added the sword after the witches' rebellion. The symbol would be written in ink dyed dark red, or for the most important of documents, the writer's own blood."
Ahllay ran her finger over the now dry ink, approving the simplicity of the symbol.
"And the Rising Sun carries the weight of this mark," she whispered.
"She does. And it is as blood red as it has been from the very beginning."

In a world called Montequasia where the priviledged hold gifts of incredible abilities, a young woman is faced with the ultimate responsibility--to save all that she has ever known from the reign of the Shadows. When Ahllay, a strong, beautiful eighteen-year-old girl with a mysterious past, and her guardian, Yuron, are caught discussing things that are forbidden, she is forced to leave her home and her beloved Yuron and flee for her life, because she is the only one left with the information that will save thousands of innocent people, and all of Montequasia. She holds the key to the Rising Sun.
In Montequasia there is a prophecy that gives their world hope. When darkness and evil return to the land the people must put their faith in the hope that the witch they have named the Rising Sun, with hair of midnight and eyes the same, will one day come to save them. The promblem is, no one knows who or where she is. Ahllay is the only one with the knowledge to contact the witch, and she is being pursued for that information. She is forced on a journey that leads her to thieves, power-hungry rulers, an unexpected love, dangerous fights, and the secret to her lost past.

Jason Daniels is just a regular kid. He’s a senior in high school, he’s incredibly popular, and he’s dating one of the hottest girls in school. But suddenly, a car accident involving his drunk friends, and girlfriend, put an unforeseen twist on his senior year. He’s also finding that the new girl, Nikiahlaray Banks, is more than she first appeared to be, more than just a girl with black hair and black eyes with a strange bloodred mark on her brow. Little did he know, because of Nicky Banks he was part of a prophecy from long ago, in a different world that in his mind had never existed. And neither of them were aware that they would soon be taken to that world to save it and the people who live there.
